Education For A Sustainable Future

Harcourt Valley Primary School is a small rural school which has retained its rural, family atmosphere, nurturing a sense of wellbeing and belonging amongst its students and school community.

Harcourt is in central Victoria just one and a half hour's drive north of Melbourne on the Calder Freeway and half an hour south of Bendigo. The school is situated at 3 Wilkinson Street, just off the Midland Highway.

Currently the school has an enrolment of almost 100 students. We moved into our new school at the end of 2009.

The school has well equipped facilities which include:

  • Arts Centre
  • Library
  • Full Disabled Facilities (a wheelchair accessible school)
  • Indoor and Outdoor Sporting facilities on site
  • Information Technology facilities in each classroom

The school provides a comprehensive curriculum within state and national education guidelines.

Children come from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds and include a number of children from outlying rural areas who travel to school by bus.

There are specialist teachers in Visual Art, Music and LOTE - French.

The school conducts a transition/orientation program for new Preps in Terms 3 and 4 of their preschool year.
